This qualification aims to provide a broad knowledge of the security industry. The objective of the qualification is to support a role in the workplace within the security sector and provides learners personal growth and engagement in learning. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge component for the Apprenticeship in Providing Security Services. Learners can choose units in security guarding, door supervision and CCTV. The optional units cover a wide range of subjects that learners will find useful in a variety of roles, particularly in providing potential progression routes to supervisory roles or enhancing their current role within the sector.

Entry Requirements
Learners must be 16-years of age or above (learners under the age of 18 are not eligible to apply for an SIA
license); and

Upon the successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their

Level 2 Award Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the
Private Security Industry;
Level 2 Award Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry;
Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services (RQF);
Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private
Security Industry;
Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management Training (RQF); and
Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training within the Private
Security Industry.
