  • The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment into a Supervisor role in the workplace.
    .
    It is designed for those learners working or wishing to work in the match day and events stewarding industry at a supervisory level. This could include a variety of sporting, festival or musical events. The qualification meets the requirements laid out in the Sports Ground Safety Authority’s Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (known as the Green Guide).
  • The average time taken to complete this is 6 months however it may be completed in anything from 10 weeks to 2 years.

Aged 18 or above, working at Level 1 or above in English, with good communications skills. This qualification requires learners to complete a work/industry placement experience throughout the duration of the qualification, before certification.

In addition to the achievement of the units detailed in the delivery and content section below, prior to certification, learners are required to show evidence of:

  • Attending the ACT Awareness e-learning counter-terrorism training
  • Attending first aid training or attaining a recognized first-aid award

Integer can offer CPD in a range of subject areas including Stress Management, Prevention and Control of Infection, Mental Health Awareness.

The knowledge elements of this qualification can be completed through classroom or online learning, together with some self-study and assessment in the workplace.

The learner must achieve all five mandatory units:

  1. Prepare stewards and venues for spectator events
  2. Manage and maintain stewarding in designated areas
  3. Manage information for action and decision-making for spectator events
  4. Develop and sustain productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  5. Monitor and solve customer service problems
  6. Help to manage and resolve conflicts

Plus 2 optional units with a minimum of 31 credits:

  1. Help to manage and resolve conflicts
  2. Deal with incidents at spectator events
  3. Manage resources for safety and security at spectator events
  4. Manage the efficient use of resources
  5. Develop your knowledge, skills, and competence

Learners will complete a portfolio of evidence and be observed carrying out their stewarding role in the workplace on a minimum of 2 occasions.

Funding may be available for those aged 19+ who fit into certain eligibility criteria (please enquire).

Full cost: from £425 plus vat per learner

Progression from this qualification may be to a Senior Steward / Assistant Ground Safety Officer / Marshal.
