Level 3 Apprenticeships Security First Line Manager

  • Security First Line Managers will be competent in supervising people and activities in line with regulatory requirements; undertaking security risk assessments; providing security advice to others; understanding threat, vulnerability and risk; security methods, operations and activities; Incident management and planning; stakeholder management; business communications and data security management.Completion of the apprenticeship would enable candidates to develop the skills and knowledge required to manage people working specially in a security environment such as Private Security Industry, MOD, Event Security, ‘In —house’ security, Department for Transport and provides vocational route to a career in Security Management.
  • Level 3 Security First Line Manager Standard
  • 12 — 18 months

Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 2 Functional Skills (or equivalent) in English and Maths

One of the following can be added to the Apprenticeships:

  • L3 NVQ Cert Spectator Safety
  • L2 Award Fire Safety
  • L2 Award Health and Safety
  • L3 Award First Aid at Work

Apprentices will undertake a series of taught workshops blended with E-Learning and E-portfolio resources covering the following:

  • Assessing & controlling risks in relation to Health & Safety.
  • Recognise the security needs of Customers & Stakeholders, and effect appropriate solutions.
  • Identify and assess possible threats and take relevant action.
  • Manage Staff performance, development and welfare.
  • Review security service provision against agreed KPIs, action within relevant regulations & guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with regulations & provide advice/ solutions to potential security risks.
  • Manage Community Social Responsibility and Expectations
  • Manage outcome of service review and take action
  • Control security of Office/Site/Venue
  • Effective deployment of resources
  • Ensure security of Communication

Candidates will be “On Programme” assessed in the workplace at least once every 8 weeks to evidence competence in knowledge, skills and behaviours required for EPA End Point Assessment (EPA): Presentation, Observation and Interview

Levy employers: £5,000 per candidate from your digital account. Non-levy employers: funded with a 10% employer contribution.

Please note: For any Apprentice under the age of 25, the employer will be exempt from paying their National Insurance Contributions

On completion this apprenticeship will contribute towards the points required for  membership of the Security Institute (MSyI).
